INTRODUCTION
Kinsa Judo was founded in 2018 by Ashley McKenzie and Fiona Chan who are also club mates at the Camberley Judo Club. We’re both currently competitive judokas with Ashley performing at the highest levels of judo (IJF World Tour) and Fiona competes at the international Masters level of judo.
We wanted to create a judo coaching business to share our passion for judo by bringing classes to schools and to set up a local club.
Ashley has now stepped away from the business to concentrate on qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and Fiona now solely runs the business.
“Kinsa” refers to a seldom-used term in judo which referees used to consider the numer of ‘kinsa’ (attacks) made by judokas in ‘shiai’ (competition) and first heard by Fiona when competing at the Veteran World Championships which were being held in Sardinia in 2018.
I look forward to the opportunity of welcoming your child on the tatami!
